Carnival in Germany is called ’the 5th season’ and is being celebrated from November 11th until Ash Wednesday the next year (March 9th in 2011). At Salzmannschule Schnepfenthal there is always a big carnival party and it is always the pupils of Year 11 who organize the fun.

This year’s carnival motto at our school was ’Stars from film and TV’ and so you could meet all different kind of film characters like Harry Potter, Bella, Mario Bros or characters from Scrubs or Maya the Bee and many more.

The big school party took place on February 9th, 2011, at our cafeteria which had been turned into Hogwarts.

First you had to pass security

before you were sorted to one of the Hogwart houses.

And then the programm of the evening was opened by Dumbledore himself.

All the pupils at Salzmannschule Schnepfenthal took part in this event and had lots of fun with the dances by our girls as well as ballet performed by our boys.

In the end we had a polonaise together and the evening was finished with a diso.
