Cultural show by Triandra Lyceum’s pupils

(Project Meeting 1)

Thursday 17 December 2009, by Marina Bureaud

Ιt was the 20th of November, Friday evening when a few students and most of our teachers gathered at the cultural center of Triandria. It was time we had presented what we had prepared for our guests, who were representatives of diverse countries , such as France, Great-Britain, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands due to the Comenius program. To be honest, all of us were a bit nervous! You could even hear our heartbeats since we wanted to content and please our guests. But never had we imagined how the boys of our band (named Nothing ‘n’ everything) would handle the situation…Since they got on stage they started shining!!! They were like little professionals! In spite of not having rehearsed whatsoever and of some technical problems, they were impressive! They sang some English songs (All along the watchtower, knockin’ on heaven’s door, and 12 bar blues, just to name a few) and they managed to touch us! They didn’t just sing, but they expressed feelings! We are proud of them! We are proud of Nothing ‘n’ everything! We hope our guests enjoyed it as well !

…And then it was high time the girls went on stage to dance. The Dj played some Greek music and our beautiful classmates made a circle and danced those Greek folk dances. Greek folk dancing

The audience applauded in excitement and some of them went on stage and joined the “party”. Greek teachers joining Maria Luisa from Italy and Eva from Spain joining

Some say that the history of a nation is portrayed on its arts, such as music and dance, so we managed to get across ours. The dances originated from Macedonia, Thrace (Zonaradico) and from Greek Islands such as Ikaria.

The last part of this event was the performance of modern dance. Girls more advanced in dancing had prepared and performed a breathtaking choreography. It was really groovy and created a very cheerful atmosphere. The stunts were astonishing and the girls were very well synchronized. modern dance

When it all was over we felt we wanted some more… but the buffet was “calling” us and nobody was able to resist. So the night went on…
