CINGOLI – Everything started in March 2009 at the station of Ancona, where we students of Liceo Linguistico G. Leopardi of Cingoli were beginning what it would reveal an experience beyond our expectations.

At our arrival in Germany, the first meeting with our partners was not the best one, because of the shyness we felt meeting the German students. As soon as the teachers broke the ice, the true cultural exchange began.

On 28th March, at the end of this week, after different excursions and experiences spent all together, the worst moment arrived: it was time to say GOODBYE. But we already knew that we would be met again in few months here in Italy. So after an endless waiting, in OCTOBER the wished day arrived. On 25th in the morning, all the Italian students met each other in Cingoli, ready to return the hospitality.

The first day we organized refreshments in our school. The headmaster was there to say hello to our partners. He wished that our exchange would not end but that each one of us would get involved , because this experience should continue with time and create new friendships. Then we took our partners around our town in order to show them the most important monuments and historical places of Cingoli. We were their guides! It was great!

This was not the only excursion; other ones took place: we visited Rome and Assisi all together, as the visit had been previously organised.

We also proposed other small towns near Cingoli, such as Jesi and Macerata. One of the most touching events of the week, was the farewell-dinner of Friday evening, which was successful thanks to our parents’ involvement, they cooked typical Marches dishes to give our friends over the Alps a vivid remembrance of the experience which had just concluded. The day after we met each other to say…GOODBYE. Our eyes were emotional with tears. The worst time had arrived. Let’s hope to meet each other in the future.
