Katrin KLATT, the author of the play

(Play Pygmalion)

Marie Gombert, French pupil staying at the Klatts’ home, talked to Katrin.

Katrin Klatt wrote the theatre play we did during the meeting in Waltershausen. She teaches German and Latin at Salzmannshule.

Mr Adam, her colleague at Salzmansschule, and coordinator of the Comenius theatre activity, asked her to write a play, and she wrote the dialogues. She wrote about 5 theatre plays, like Odysseus in the underworld. She is fond of mythology, she read a lot of stories about Pygmalion, to imagine the personality of each character.

Ovide is her favorite poet, and in a story, he tells about the metamorphose of Galathée, when she becomes alive. In the real story, Pygmalion isn’t married.

She enjoyed to write theatre plays, but only about mythology because it’s her favourite subject.
