Throughout the year pupils from participating schools worked on European stereotypes in order to make them question their own preconceived ideas. At school they reflected on these ideas by making an identity card for each country.

In Menorca all pupils’ works were displayed.

Here are some of the ideas we can get from the posters:

  • The British like horse racing. They love the Queen. They eat fried food and take aways. There are many famous buildings in England and in wales such as Buckingham place, the London eye, Cardiff Castle and Tower Bridge. The currency in England and Wales is the Pound.
  • The beret is a typical hat in France. The French wear striped T-shirts. They have dinner very early. Croissants and baguettes are typical food there. Crème brûle is a typical dessert. In France there are popular sights such as the Eiffel Tower and Moline Rouge.
  • The Germans like to drink beer. They eat fatty food. Germany has many famous musicians. They make very good sports cars. The famous breed of dog is the German shepard.
  • The Greek cheese feta is very famous. There are many historical sights such as the Pantheon. Greek houses are usually white asnd blue and are always decorated with flowers. The Greeks love sports . Sirtaki dance is very popular. Ouzo is the most typical drink.
  • They dance flamenco in Andalusia. Paella is a typical food in Valencia and in all Spain. There are many beaches around the country. Bullfighting is one of the most popular sport in a few regions. They have one of the best football teams , FC Barcelona ( an Real Madrid as well !!!). In Barcelona there is a very impressive sight: Sagrada Familia.
  • In the Netherlands there are many windmills. Vincent Van Gogh is a famous painter. Holland has many canals . The Dutch like to travel by bike. Their typical shoes are clogs.
  • The Italians like pasta and vegetables. The Italians ingeniers invented the car make Ferrari. Italy has well-known sights such as Pisa Tower and the Colliseum. One of the most famous cities in Italy is Venice. Italy’s most famous drink is Limoncello. One of the most admired sport persons is Valentino Rossi.
