Radyr Comprehensive School opened in 1972. It is situated on an elevated site overlooking city and Taff Valley. It caters for 1300 boys and girls aged 11-18. School facilities feature extensive playing fields, including all-weather pitch and 10 tennis courts, sports hall, heated indoor swimming pool and drama studio. Academic standards are high and pupils also enjoy of the out of learning, in particular sports and the performing arts. The school has links with schools in every country in the European Union. It is our belief that these partnerships bring an international dimension to young people’s learning and to improve their knowledge and understanding of other cultures and prepare them for life and work as global citizens. The overall aim as a school is to provide a caring and stimulating environment in which all who learn and work are helped to achieve their full potential –making education successful and enjoyable for all. We work on the principle that ’good enough never is’, seeking always to improve its provision and encouraging all students to do the best they can do and be the best they can be in every aspects of their lives.
