The towers in our project

(Heritage)

Friday 20 November 2009, by Test

In our previous project we worked on a kaleidoscope of food, and of islands; so we are very happy to welcome another island: Wales, part of Great-Britain.

This time we could deal with an economic topic such as our ports, Cardiff, Thessaloniki, La Rochelle, Mahon on Menorca, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Ancona. But why not pick up the topic of an aspect of our common cultural heritage. Towers for example …

You can find them on churches, castles; they are from all periods, medieval, Renaissance, baroque …

Are you good at recognising our 7 European Towers ?

Match those Towers with our towns or regions:

- Cardiff’s castle Tower, called Clock Tower
- The White Tower at Thessaloniki
- The tower at the entry of the port of Mahon on the island of Menorca
- The tower of the Martini church at Groningen, the Netherlands
- The most famous tower in Italy
- The tower of the German school
- La Rochelle’s 3 historic towers in the old harbour click on the Powerpoint presentation at the end of the article

Good luck.
